Pepsi Boycott !!

Click on the logo to view the offensive advertisement or publication

We encourage you to read our analysis on Sexism
so you can understand the need for this boycott.

This advertisement, highly denigrating of men, was run by Pepsi in Australia and possibly other countries in 1999. Pictured is a woman "dressed to kill", with a sidebar caption "Mr. Right understands the words 'daggy' and 'hopeless' are just your little pet names for him. You may never find him, but at least you've found great taste."

Message: It is chic to bash men, especially if you are hip and thirsty. Trade that oaf in for an ice-cold Pepsi.

We will teach them a lesson. About half their customers are male, and sexism is totally uncool. Make darned sure you do not buy any Pepsi, Tropicana, and Frito-Lay products! This boycott includes anything you find in any soda machine with a "Pepsi" front panel on it. You should also refuse to purchase Pepsico stock.

Please note that Pepsi appears to share profitably sexist feelings with Subway, who is also being boycotted. Pepsi issued a press release on June 1, 1999, committing to a "long term partnership" with Subway. All the more important that all who wish to put sexists out of business to keep 100% solidarity in refusing to purchase stock or products of these corporations.

Our demand of Pepsi is that it undo the damage by publishing an equivalent-scale community-service advertisement (to DadsNow's satisfaction), containing an inset of the original advertisement, along with an apology to men, generally urging others in the corporate community to stop sexist practices.

Pepsi apparently is not interested in your feedback, and provides no electronic method of contact on their website. You can express your sincere feelings about Pepsi's sexist attitude via conventional means directly to the following parties. We suggest that you send a copy of your letter to everyone listed below, since that won't take much more time than writing your letter. Be sure to send them a copy of the offending advertisement, along with a copy of the DadsNow treatise on Sexism.
